Donald Trump predicts that he will collect 150 million votes in the 2024 US presidential election.

At a December 5 event, former US President Donald Trump declared he would collect 150 million votes from the general public in the US presidential election of 2024. The Independent stated that on January 15, the party's nominating contest will begin in Davenport, Iowa, where Trump, the front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination, was speaking to an amicable crowd at a Fox News event.

"We have never seen the likes of what we've all done together," declared the former US president. It's not just me; it's millions and millions of others in this room. In my opinion, the number is closer to 150 million or perhaps more than 75 million. Who wouldn't want to go out and purchase a home when they saw secure borders, a powerful military, low taxes, and low intern states?

At the occasion, he said that if he were to win the presidency again, he would not turn into a dictator save "on day one," in response to concerns raised by some Republicans and Democrats that, should he win in 2024, the country might descend into an autocracy.

At a televised town hall in Iowa, the Republican presidential nominee had to be pressed twice to refute the claim that, should he be re-elected, he would use his position of power to exact revenge on his political rivals.

"No, no, no. When asked if, should he win in November, he will turn into a "dictator," Trump said, "Other than day one." On the "day one" he mentioned, Trump declared he would block the southern border with Mexico and increase oil drilling using his presidential authority.

In a potential election rematch with Democratic President Joe Biden, Trump is running for a second term in office. He has often threatened to exact "retribution" on political rivals if he returns to power.

Trump, who served as US president from 2017 to 2021, has steadfastly refused to acknowledge that Joe Biden defeated him in the 2020 contest. Since then, Trump has propagated false allegations that he was cheated out of the 2020 election, a plot that provided the impetus for the fatal uprising by Trump supporters at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021. Trump's current White House campaign is based mostly on his election-related lies.

Voters are particularly concerned about Mr. Biden's age, and some Democrats have called for him to withdraw so that a new candidate can run.
