After many nominations, Baldur's Gate 3 was named game of the year in 2023.

At the biggest awards show in the video game business, actor Timothée Chalamet announced the Game of the Year.

In Los Angeles, Willy Wonka said that the fantasy RPG Baldur's Gate 3 had won the grand prize.

When Larian accepted the award, he said that making the epic fantasy RPG based on Dungeons and Dragons was a labor of love.

Six of the awards went to it, including best acting, best RPG, and player's choice.

Geoff Keighley, the host of the awards show, introduced Timothée as "ModdedController360," which was the name of his now-deleted teenage YouTube channel that showed painted game controllers.

In interviews, the Willy Wonka star has talked about how much he loves video games, and he was recently seen visiting the Japanese studio of famous game creator Hideo Kojima.

Baldur's Gate 3 won a total of six awards. Neil Newbon, who played fan favorite Astarion, won the award for best acting.

There were three awards for Alan Wake 2, which won for best game direction, story, and art direction.
