Former Steelers WR Chase Claypool Takes Shot at Bear

PIT -- Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Chase Claypool has had a slow start with the Chicago Bears, catching four passes for 51 yards and a touchdown.

Claypool is attempting to make the best of the circumstances, but he recently said that the game plan isn't helping him on offense.

ESPN's Courtney Cronin said, "Do you feel like you've been put in the best position for you as a receiver to showcase your best?" He hesitated, then said, "No."

"I think every situation can be ideal, and we're working toward that," Claypool said. I won't say that. The place is fine for me.

There are other situations where you may say, 'Oh, I want to be on the best offense with the highest passing yards,' but football doesn't. Just work with what you have."

The Steelers' former second-round choice is in his final year of his rookie contract and has yet to reach 200 yards in 10 games with Chicago.

"Sometimes the things around you elevate you or you have to adapt to elevate with them," Claypool remarked.

"So I've been adapting to the new system and my new role and trying to maximize it."
