Jerry Makes Bold Zeke Statement Ahead Of Return

With former Dallas Cowboys running back facing his former squad as member of the New England Patriots on Sunday, "America's Team" is feeling mixed.

Despite their fond memories of Elliott, Cowboys players know they must put those feelings aside to perform well.

However, many, including Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, have praised Elliott's time in Dallas.

Jones has lauded his former running back before the game. Jones said Friday that Elliott might be in the team's ring of honor

and that his homecoming would be the most momentous in franchise history. Elliott's return was likened to NFL

all-time rushing leader Emmitt Smith's, but Jones thinks Elliott's was more significant.

“I’ll tell you, not any more so than Zeke,” Jones told 105.3 The Fan. Nobody comes to mind more than Zeke.

Two years with the Cardinals was a long time for Emmitt. I remember his early-game injury. If he had been with the Cowboys, I would have felt the same.
