Raiders receive massive injury update on Jimmy Garoppolo

After losing to the Pittsburgh Steelers last Sunday, Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo

entered concussion protocol, threatening his availability for Week 4's game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Garoppolo practiced on Thursday, according to Vincent Bonsignore of The Las Vegas Review-Journal, indicating he may play on Sunday.

Garoppolo completed 28-of-44 passes for 324 yards, two touchdowns, and three interceptions in the 23-18 loss to the Steelers.

After cutting Derek Carr, the Raiders signed Garoppolo to a three-year, $72.5 million contract this offseason.

Early returns on Garoppolo are poor. While completing 68.1% of his throws and registering an 81.4 passer rating, the 31-year-old has passed for 709 yards,

five touchdowns, and a league-worst six interceptions in three games. Many wondered if Las Vegas would start rookie quarterback Aidan O'Connell against the Chargers.

In the preseason, O'Connell impressed and some thought he could replace Garoppolo at quarterback.
