Trade Pitch Sees Vikings Part Ways with $17 Million Pro Bowler

Justin Jefferson is sick of hearing about it, but trade rumors involving some of the Minnesota Vikings' top players aren't going away until the team stops losing.

On Wednesday, September 27, Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox updated his trade block big board, which has included Hunter every week of the regular season

and continues to name the Cleveland Browns as one of the linebacker's most likely landing locations.

"[Hunter's] contract prohibits the Vikings from using the franchise tag on him in 2024, so now might be the time for the team to cash in via a trade," Knox stated.

"If the Browns want to keep improving their defense, they would be a good landing spot."

Cleveland signed former Vikings [players] Za'Darius Smith and Dalvin Tomlinson this summer and has the league's second-most cap space ($35.9 million).

"The reasons Hunter is still being touted in trade discussions are simple, despite the fact that the linebacker has 5 sacks through three games in 2023,

second only to T.J. Watt of the Pittsburgh Steelers, who has 6 sacks. After a months-long contract stalemate, Minnesota made Hunter available through trade in late July.
