One former NBA player believes that Ja Morant ought to postpone his return from his 25-game ban by one game. Morant, who plays for the Memphis Grizzlies, has been counting down the games until he is allowed to return from his suspension. In a recent episode of Gil’s Arena, former NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas made the suggestion that Morant should make his return at home against the Indiana Pacers rather than on the road against the New Orleans Pelicans by suggesting that Morant should play the Pacers.
“He ain’t coming home on the road,” Arenas explained in reference to Morant. The 19th of December, you might as well remove that f–king game from the Television Network. It is not the Pelicans that we are playing against. No. Come to Memphis, you just must. It would be best if you made the game the TNT game, Indiana Pacers.
If Ja is as intelligent as the NBA, you can beseech this man as much as you want, but you are already on his bad side no matter what you do. At his house, he is going to play. If it’s me, I’m going to play my first game back from suspension at home in front of my media; I’m not going to play it away from home.”
When I watched the entire section from Arenas, it seemed more like a recommendation than a prediction; yet, it is evident that the former Grizzlies guard has a strong opinion regarding this matter. In spite of this, it is quite improbable that Morant will postpone his comeback any more than it has already been expected.
The first home game that Morant is eligible to play in will provide Memphis fans with the opportunity to meet him, but it is quite likely that Morant will make his return as soon as he is eligible to do so.
